1W6539, PUMP G, CATERPILLAR (Fuel Injection System)

In a very strange twist of fate, these PUMP G(s) remained untouched for about 02 years in one of the base stores of a utility company I am serving in. Anyhow, these were ultimately handed over to a very honest and a freakingly upright USTAD MECHANIC who utilized the same in a Caterpillar 3306DI Engine powering a Caterpillar D7H Track Type Tractor. To me the very name of this assembly deceived the hawks who are always on the look out to find and sell such precious items with names like Plunger & Barrel Assem or Fuel Injector Pumps in the local market unlawfully.
This Pump G contains following components;
RING, 7W1927 (01 No.)
SPRING, 8N1415 (01 No.)
BONNET, 1W9171 (01 No.)
VALVE ASSEM. 1W6987 (01 No.)

Overhauling of a Detroit Diesel 6V92T Engine

ENGINE MODEL CODE: 80637400 UNIT SERIAL CODE: 6VF198936 6V92T Series-92 V6 Diesel Engine The Detroit Diesel Series 92, 6V92T is a two-stroke cycle, V-block diesel engine, produced with 06 cylinders. The 92 series was introduced in 1974. It was a rebored version of its then-popular sister series (retaining the 5" piston stroke), the Series 71. Both the 71 and 92 series engines were popularly used in on-highway vehicle applications. The following Type Label data is usually found on the Option Label of this Detroit Diesel Engine. This Option Label can be found on the Rocker Cover. In my case it got detached during shifting of the subject engine, rendering me clueless. After shooting random e-mails someone from waterouspower.com forwarded me the below mentioned data. I am posting this data for the owners of this engine. Overhauling of a DEUTZ BF4M1013EC engine

My latest assignment is the overhauling of an unfortunate, poorly managed DEUTZ, 04 cylinder, water cooled engine coupled to a new COMPAIR C115-12 portable air compressor. This engine was in its infancy and had not yet completed initial 1000 hours of operation when a group of some pseudo specialist mechanics knocked it with all their comprehension of fuel injection systems rendering it unusable for the rest of the life of this fine-looking portable air compressor by damaging its timing gears and associated cam shaft.

The durability of air cooled DEUTZ engines has always fascinated me. Gone are the days of my student being in University of Engineering & Technology (Lahore) when I was under the false consciousness that air cooled engines cannot be operated in the hot, rather harsher climate of Pakistan. Things have changed for me completely after spending four years in the field of earth moving and construction equipment and a bit after reading "Roland Sparling" who leads h…
